How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account directly from the JEL UP app. Follow these steps:

Open JEL UP
Launch the JEL UP app on your device and make sure you are logged in.

Go to Profile → Settings
Tap the Profile icon in the bottom navigation bar, then tap the Settings (gear) icon at the top right.

Tap "Delete Account"
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen and tap Delete Account.

Confirm Deletion
A confirmation dialog will appear. Tap Yes, Delete to proceed. Your account will be deactivated immediately.
What Gets Deleted or Deactivated
When you delete your account, the following actions are taken immediately:
| Data | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Your profile (display name, bio, profile picture) | Hidden from all users immediately |
| Your account login | Deactivated — you can no longer log in |
| Radar visibility | Removed — you no longer appear on anyone's radar |
| Online status | Set to offline permanently |
| All your active chats | Deactivated — other users can no longer message you |
| Pending pings (sent or received) | Expire and become inaccessible |
Data Retention Period
Account deletion is a soft delete. Your data is retained on our servers for 30 days after deletion, during which you can contact us to recover your account.
After 30 days, the following data may be permanently purged from our systems:
- Phone number and profile information
- Chat messages you sent
- Ping history
- Location data
- Block relationships
If you want your data removed right away without the 30-day retention window, email us at privacy@jelup.app with the subject line "Permanent Data Deletion — [Your Phone Number]" and we will process it within 48 hours.
Can't Access the App?
If you are unable to log in or access the app to delete your account, you can request deletion by contacting us directly:
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Please include the phone number associated with your account so we can verify your identity and process the request.
